CALCULATING BREED PERCENTAGES IN OFFSPRING

Calculating breed percentages in offspring is really very simple.
First, convert the breed percentages of both parents to eighths.

SIRE:
3/4 (6/8) TENNESSEE MEAT GOAT™
1/4 (2/8) Boer

DAM:
3/4 (6/8) Boer
1/4 (2/8) TENNESSEE MEAT GOAT™

Then divide each of these percentages in half to get:

SIRE:
3/8 TENNESSEE MEAT GOAT™
1/8 Boer

DAM:
3/8 Boer
1/8 TENNESSEE MEAT GOAT™

The next step is to add the percentages together to achieve an offspring which is:

1/2 (4/8) TENNESSEE MEAT GOAT™ (TMG)
1/2 (4/8) Boer

Now, look at this three-way cross:

SIRE:
3/4 (6/8) Boer
1/4 (2/8) Spanish

DAM:
1/2 (4/8) Nubian
1/2 (4/8) Boer

By dividing each of the above percentages in half, the result is:

SIRE:
3/8 Boer
1/8 Spanish

DAM:
2/8 Nubian
2/8 Boer

Thus, the offspring is the total of these percentages:

5/8 Boer
1/8 Spanish
1/4 (2/8) Nubian
